Local Focus A Tātau Kōrero: Tommy Watts

In this series, we wanted to find out who are our people in Te Tairāwhiti 250 years after the arrival of Lieutenant James Cook and his crew on the Endeavour, and what are the things that make up our community including insights, reflections, views and opinions.

Walton Walker is a tireless worker for his community. He is seen around the district with different kaupapa. He indeed wears many hats, from the baseball field to the river for waka ama and across to the Māori Batallion Trust, Walton talks about duty to those gone before him and his desire to pass the mantle to the next generation.
