Messages from the Mosques Messages from the Mosques | Mohammad Shamim Siddiqui (Sam)

Mohammad Shamim Siddiqui (Sam) thought he’d escaped the gunman, he broke through a window at Masjid An-Nur and made it safely outside. The 59 year old taxi driver was on a cell phone speaking to his wife Rehana Parween assuring her he was uninjured - that’s when the gunman shot him. His wife heard everything. The self employed taxi driver is the sole breadwinner for the family and has been unable to work since the shooting. His wife and children, Shayan and Alisha, were at his side when they met the Prime Minister earlier this week - he spoke of what that meant to himself and the family.
